Lot Essay
This is a superb example of the craftsmanship and elegance of pieces from the workshops founded by Zanabazar (1635-1723), religious leader, artist and master craftsman in Mongolia. Of good size, this sculpture displays the characteristic raised lotus base and graceful treatment of the body and ornamentation, richly gilt overall.
