A gilt copper alloy figure of Vajrapani Krodha
Tibeto-Chinese, 17th/18th century
Standing in pratyalidhasana on a sharp-petaled lotus base, his right hand holding a vajra, the left in tarjani mudra, wearing a tiger skin around his waist, a garland of severed heads, and a docile snake draped over his shoulders, adorned with abundant jewelry inlaid with semiprecious stones, his wrathful face open-mouthed, rich in polychromy, and wearing a crown before the vajra emerging from his fiery mane.
